Hi bandits!

The evening has fallen in Nottingham and Sherwood Forest has returned to silent and peaceful sleep.

Robin Hood and all his happy company thank you very much for the love you have shown for his game.

Special thanks from the whole team, especially for this exciting ending: Luca Ricci, the game designer, and Simone de Paolis, the illustrator, will be happy to sign the copies of any backers who request them during the PM.

Thanks for your wonderful support.

May the dice be with you, and may you always hit the mark!

Wagons!
almost 4 years ago – Sat, Jul 04, 2020 at 04:08:11 AM

Hello to all Sherwood Bandits,

What a great ending we have in store for tomorrow, you guys are really cool.

Today let's talk about wagons.

Every good bandit must be able to recognize and evaluate his target, but sometimes some targets may turn out to be different from what they seem.

Some wagons, 6 in the core game (2 for each wagon level), have special abilities that are unrecognizable from their backs.

When revealed, they can surprise the bandits and their positioning, such as the beer wagon that is among the cards showing a potential maximum range value on their backs but once you turn it over it will have a value equal to the weakest wagon among those revealed.

Take a look at the rules to read the effects of all the wagons.

In the 5th player expansion you will find 3 other wagons representing very special characters: King Richard, King John andAlan-a-Dale  the minstrel.

King Richard will release any arrested gang leaders as soon as his wagon is revealed, plus he will guarantee that no one else will be arrested for this turn. He will also give a treasure token to each player with at least one bandit placed in the Assault spaces corresponding to his wagon. On the other hand, no one can attack King Richard's wagon, so there will be no further points or treasure given out.

King John travels with his personal wagon and his personal guard to escort the best stolen treasures ... er, rather earned with his noble deeds. If the players manage to defeat this wagon, they can always choose the treasure token to be taken from all those still available in the usual player order.

Finally, there is Alan-a-Dale  the minstrel, who with his sweet singing can send everyone into confusion, including both guards and bandits. His effect is nothing short of revolutionary, in fact when it is revealed it will replace the wagons in play with the same number of wagons randomly taken from the deck, effectively making any strategy for that turn completely useless.

Clarifications

Yesterday, we didn't include the treasure chest image in the 5th player expansion, but meant to.

This object will be provided in the expansion and can now be seen in the image.

Some of you have asked us how this expansion will affect the game and have noticed that the drawbridge does not have enough spaces for 5 players. The map board and the neoprene mat will be adjusted to contain 5 columns instead of 4 on the drawbridge. (We simply did not want to spoil the surprise of the expansion.)

As for the Assault spaces, there will still be only 4 spaces per wagon. However, the expansion can be used in 2 different ways:

easy version - each player uses only 3 bandits.

hard version - each player will use all 4 bandits, in fact the available spaces will be 22 when considering those for entering the city (pickpocketing) will also increase by 2.

The first version is simpler to play, and lasts about the same amount of time as the 4-person game but you get less points.

The other version, on the other hand, will be more difficult to manage since 22 spaces and 20 bandits will be available, but there will only be 16 Assault spaces for the wagons (you need to study the best positioning for the limited Assault spaces). This will make a big difference in how you play.

SGs

We have currently unlocked 4 SGs: Gang Leader custom meeples, Bandits custom meeples, the Dice Tower, and the First Player metal coin.

We are reaching the fifth, the insert inside the box with another splendid illustration by Simone de Paolis.

Soon we will add 2 new SGs among those ready to be voted on, and as usual ... vote, vote, vote.

May your hand be strong and your aim worthy, as in archery the dice roll deserves concentration.

SGs!!!

Hello Bandits,

iIt seems that things have really flown these last two days and despite a slow start we are now preparing to unlock the seventh SG.

For the final rush we decided, by accepting the requests of our backers, to reveal all the latest SGs.

Here are the SGs in order of ranking:

Foil cards for the special wagons to make the game even more flashy.

The fabulous dice, each Leader will have their own custom dice, each with distinctive icons.

UV spot on the box, making it more beautiful to display on your shelves, increasing the prestige of Simone de Paolis' fabulous artwork.

UV spot on the dashboard, I've always wanted to see boards like this since I played Mech Vs Minion.

Now, the time to vote is almost over, so spread the word!!!

About Bandits and their Gang Leader
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 01, 2020 at 01:37:57 PM

Hi bandits,
You have unlocked the first SG, the custom Gang Leaders, and to thank you for all the love shown towards Sherwood, King John has decided to make your bandits more beautiful... for free!

These meeples will replace those contained in the base box, increasing the value of Sherwood Bandits.

And now we are aiming for the fantastic metal coin. May your aim be true ... all of Nottingham is watching!

Please, keep voting.

All-in Pledge
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 01, 2020 at 04:59:40 AM

Hello Bandits,

Here we are with a juicy update.

Today we will talk about several things, but first of all a big thank you from the staff behind the project for your continuous support.

Today we close the second part of the vote, and now, thanks to Robin Hood, you can see a beautiful metal coin that can be unlocked. This coin can be assigned to the first player to replace the card board First Player token. It was a close vote, with Friar Tuck only 3 votes behind! Perhaps he should not have gone back for that last tankard of ale!

What will be the next one? Hurry up and vote; the time remaining is short.

To increase the challenge a bit, we decided to add another 2 SGs to use all the Merry Men again, for a final round of greetings.

All-in pledge

Today we will introduce a new pledge that will contain all 3 promised add-ons along with the base game.

The last 2 add-ons we will offer are the playmat and the 5th player expansion (the first add-on is a set of wooden tokens).

The 5th player expansion may be upgraded even further based on unlocked SGs, such as that of custom meeples for Gang Leaders.

This all-in pledge will cost € 65, with a savings of € 12 (more than 15%).

You may change your current pledge to the All-in Pledge by simply clicking on the "Manage your pledge" button and changing your pledge level. Add-ons can still also be purchased individually, just add the cost of the desired item to your pledge.

Run to the victory

Just over 48H are remaining for the end of the project. Soon, a reminder email will be sent to all the backers left on the fence.

Help us push the project on social media, sharing images, and drawing the attention of those who do not yet know about the game.

Tomorrow we will present the wagons explaining what they are for and how they are used.

Ops, a little spoiler!
